Purpose
Ground-based Surveillance and Communication Transceiving
Base Station (BPPS NS) is intended for receiving the
information on location of aircraft being in the ATC
control center responsibility area, the additional
information on aircraft flight parameters, for
transmitting the received information to ATC automated
systems and complexes of ATC automation facilities, for
realization of the data exchange between an aircraft
equipment and ACC ATC automated systems and ATC
automation facilities complexes of ACCs.
Main functions
- Tracking the aircraft equipped with the
facilities of broadcasting automatic dependent
surveillance based on the 1090 MHz (ADS-V / 1090 ES)
range extended squitter principle
and being in the Station coverage area;
- Broadcast TIS-B data transmission to aircraft
equipped with 1090 MHz airborne receivers;
- Aircraft information transmission to ACCs;
- TIS-B data reception from ATC centers.
Equipment components
Two BPPS-NS configurations are available:
- Configuration1 (ES 1090) provides tracking the
aircraft transmitting DF-17 and DF-18
signals (extended squitters);
- Configuration2 (ES 1090, mode S Data link)
provides the configuration1 functions and also
the data transmission for TIS functions realization.
The following facilities can be used in the
ground-based station depending on the configuration:
- Four-beam antenna feed line with beams switching
device for 1090 MHz frequency range;
- Receiving modules for 1090 MHz frequency range;
- Transmitting module for mode S LPD;
- Remote Parrot;
- Information decoding and processing device;
- Comm-A and Comm-B messages former;
- Station control device;
- Data transmitting equipment;
- Remote terminal;
- Power supply subsystem;
- Spares;
- Operational documentation.
